Nashville, TN – Eddie Montgomery, one-half of the award-winning duo Montgomery Gentry, lost his son Hunter on Sunday after an “accident” that had the 19-year-old on life support in a Kentucky hospital.

Investigators are waiting for toxicology test results to determine the cause of death but reports suggest the death was drug related.

Tracy Nunan, his mother, told Daily Mail Online that her son didn’t take drugs and says he recently passed a drug test for a new job.

The report said the teen’s mother doesn’t understand why his father would call the death an ‘accident,’ suggesting the 19-year-old had a seizure.

“My son Hunter went to heaven today,” said Eddie Montgomery (Montgomery Gentry). “I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye.”

Funeral arrangements are set for 3 p.m. Thursday in Theater 81 at Southland Christian Church.
