NAHVILLE, TENN. — Sex Crimes detectives this morning charged Devon T. Gooden, 25, with aggravated rape and vehicle theft for last Thursday night’s stranger sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman who was attacked in the parking garage of Note 16 Apartments on Horton Avenue where she lived.

Midtown Hills Precinct officers took Gooden into custody late Wednesday night at his 11th Avenue South residence on an outstanding warrant issued earlier Wednesday charging him with the January 27th attempted robbery of a 23-year-old woman at her 8th Avenue South apartment complex. As the result of interviews with Gooden this morning concerning other crimes of which he was suspected, Gooden implicated himself in the rape of the victim and the theft of her vehicle. Additionally, Gooden is charged with the January 27th robbery of a 21-year-old woman on Elliott Avenue, and the February 10th armed robbery of a 23-year-old woman at her Grand Avenue apartment building.
