URGENT: Wanted Felon Escapes Police Custody in Brooklyn

On Tuesday, at 5:30 AM, the suspect, while in the custody of the New York City Police Department at 654 Sheffield Ave, fled from police custody after bumping the escorting officer while attempting to transport the suspect to the 73rd Precinct.

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the following escaped prisoner in Brooklyn, within the confines of the 75th Precinct.

On Tuesday, at 5:30 AM, the suspect, while in the custody of the New York City Police Department at 654 Sheffield Ave, fled from police custody after bumping the escorting officer while attempting to transport the suspect to the 73rd Precinct. The suspect was handcuffed behind his back.

He was last seen fleeing northbound on Georgia Ave towards New Lots Ave. The suspect is identified as Gerald Brooks, a 39-year-old black male. He is from Brooklyn.

Brown eyes, long black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing red baseball cap, blue hooded jacket and blue jeans.

Brooks was wanted for several outstanding violations, including driving with a suspended license and a previous domestic violence incident, ABC7 reported.
