A man has been arrested by police for firing a blank gun inside a San Francisco synagogue.

The arrest took place on Friday evening in the Richmond District, on charges of disrupting a religious gathering, brandishing a fake firearm, and preventing others from participating in a religious service.

The suspect, Dmitri Mishin, aged 51, of San Francisco, was booked into jail and is being held without bail.

On Wednesday evening, Mishin allegedly entered the Schneerson Center on Balboa Street, which serves as a religious and social center for the local Russian Jewish community.

Footage captured by KTVU-TV showed the man entering a room, making hand gestures, firing the gun, and then leaving while saluting.
