Suspect Shot, Officer Wounded in The Bronx

NEW YORK — **UPDATE: Three NYPD Officers assigned to the “training auto” responded to a call of a man with a gun. Once at the location they discover a male black, 29-years-old with a firearm. After numerous orders to drop the weapon, the suspect was shot once in the right shoulder. No shots were fired at officers.**

A NYPD Officer shot a suspect at a public housing project in the Bronx on Monday. The suspect was reportedly hit in the right arm. The officer was also injured but was not struck by gunfire, sources said.

The scene is at theĀ Forrest Houses, located atĀ 1017 Tinton Ave. The wounded suspect was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition.

A gun was recovered at the scene.
