A man from Florida has now been jailed for 15 years after he murdered his cross-dressing voodoo priest lover after he claimed tried to kill him with ‘magic powder.’
Malherbe Fracois, aged 24, shot down Beauglais Bazelais, aged 44, on his own doorstep in North Miami-Dade in 2013.
A court heard how Francois was fearful that Bazelais was trying to kill him with a power he had in a bottle.
He then accepted a plea deal admitting to second degree murder.
Bazelais’ body was discovered by police outside his home.
The police reported said he was a voodoo priest who accepts money for casting spells and healings.
Police said that Bazelais invited Francois to live with him.
Francois told officer that Bazelais drugged him before they became lovers.
Before his death, Bazelais went to a cemetery to ‘collect souls’ for a voodoo ceremony.
Bazelais reportedly walked towards Francois with a white substance on his hands, three shots were fired and Francois left.
Francois went to a local convenience store to purchase cigarettes before reporting his crime to police.
