The Republic of Guinea is a small country located at the West coast of Africa. It gained independence in 1958. The official language there is French. Its population is about 12.4 million. Its capital city is called Conakry. There are more than 10 ethnic groups in Guinea.

The main 5 ethnic groups are:

– 34% Fulani (mostly Muslims).

– 31% Mandinka (Muslims).

– 19% Susu (Muslims).

– 4% Koniaka.

– 4% Kissi (mostly Christians).

The president of Guinea is Alpha Condé who came into office in 2010. He is the head of a political party called Rally of the Guinean People (RPG). In October 2020, a new election will be held in Guinea.

Guinea is one of the poorest countries in the world as GDP Per Capita in spite of its richness in minerals. Problems that are very easy to see are: Poverty, diseases, unemployment, low-standards of education and the list goes on.

It seems like there is a pattern that can be seen when studying African countries: rich resources but very poor people. I’ll let your imagination figure out why but does the Sheppard run away when the wolf appear?

Virtue is not knowing but doing.

I personally encourage both individuals and organizations to contribute in making Guinea a better place to live in for its people.

“A truly virtuous man would come to the aid of the most distant stranger as quickly as to his own friend” Montesquieu.
