WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Cincinnati police officers helped a two-year-old boy after they found him roaming a street in the middle of the night with little clothing.

The child was discovered barefoot, wearing pajama pants and had a soiled diaper.

Police officers found the boy in the middle of the night and called a local adoption center, but wanted to help the child before they arrived.

Officer Jamie Landrum bought the child pants, shoes, a coat and fresh diapers and paid for it out of his own pocket.

Officer Will Nastold was photographed by an officer playing on the ground in an attempt to calm him down so he could sleep.

Sergeant Dan Hils posted the photo onto Facebook, which went viral in hours.

Hills reported to Inside Edition: ‘I had no idea this would happen; I didn’t know what “going viral” meant,’

“I was just playing with a toy with him, trying to help him nap.’ He doesn’t feel deserving. But it’s just such a positive thing.’

The child’s mother, Tanisha Caldwell, arrived at the police station on Tuesday at 5:30 a.m.
