Tensions Rise in Korea

Tensions between North and South Korea have yet again risen along the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).  There have been reports of open conflicts along the border between the two nations.  Recently, the United States has retrieved plans that it had made years ago for specifically defending South Korea.

The two countries will begin to sort out their issues, but South Korea demands a formal apology.  In the mean time, the North has mobilized their military including seventy percent of their submarine fleet.

The conflict began after two separate incidents occurred when landmines injured South Korean military personnel.  South Korea responded by playing recorded propaganda messages to the North Korean side using sets of megaphone speakers.  North Korea responded by firing shells on Thursday, apparently at the speakers, that created another open fire scenario.

The talks are still underway, and delegates are hoping to have this situation settled down.
